When working with the Event tool Sound Forge Pro b eventtool Selecting Events, you can select one or more events, but you cannot create time selections.

Sound Forge Pro tip Selecting EventsIf you want to zoom to an event, right-click the event and choose Zoom Event from the shortcut menu (or press Ctrl+Up Arrow). The event is zoomed to fit the width of the data window.


To select an event, click it with the Event tool Sound Forge Pro b eventtool Selecting Events.

To select the next or previous event, press Shift+Right/Left Arrow.

Double-click an event to select it and set the loop bar to match the event’s length.

To select multiple adjacent events, hold the Shift key and click the first and last event you want to select. All events between the first and last selected events are also selected.

To extend a selection to the next or previous event, hold Ctrl+Shift+Right/Left Arrow.

To select multiple nonadjacent events, hold the Ctrl key and click each event you want to select. To deselect an event, click it again to toggle the event selection on or off.

Sound Forge Pro tip Selecting EventsYou can drag the top and bottom edges of events if you want to use only a subset of the channels in a multichannel file. This method is also useful for duplicating or rearranging channels without performing channel conversion, which always processes the entire file:

You can quickly restore contiguous channels by dragging the event edge back.
